What is the Academic Advantage program?
The Academic Advantage Program helps students gain valuable knowledge and a head start into the future of healthcare through interactive events hosted by experts in the medical field. Aimed at students between 6th and 12th grade and anyone interested in learning more about pursuing a career in the medical field, the program provides great resources for students to accomplish their healthcare career goals.
The team at North Iowa Oral Surgery & Dental Implant Center is proud to present our first Academic Advantage event on Saturday, April 6 at NIACC Event Center. We hope that by preparing for college early, students in attendance will get a head start on the path to their dream career. Attendees will also have the chance to win some fun surprises such as AirPods and $50 gift cards!

Our goal is to encourage and assist students as they follow their dream to attend medical school. Two students pursuing an undergraduate or technical school education will be awarded $1000 scholarships at the Academic Advantage event. To enter, you must complete the questionnaire and submit your scholarship essay/personal statement before Saturday, April 6, as well as be present at the event. The personal statement must describe your background, future plans, career goals, and why you would like to be considered for the scholarship award. Students are required to submit at least one letter of recommendation from their guidance counselor, teacher, or principal. In addition, a copy of your current academic transcripts is required to be considered for a scholarship. This scholarship is only applicable to students residing in Cerro Gordo, Bremer, Butler, Boone, Chickasaw, Clayton, Floyd, Hancock, Kossuth, Winnebago, or Wright counties.
