About Dr. Hogg
Originally from Scotland, Dr. Lyell Hogg was inspired to pursue a career in oral and maxillofacial surgery from his local dentist. He enjoys restoring his patients’ oral health and outcomes with deserving, trusted, and compassionate care. To continue to provide his patients with outstanding care, he regularly attends educational seminars and courses about the newest advances and techniques in the industry. As a board-certified oral surgeon, Dr. Hogg practices the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery and specializes in dental implants, dental rehabilitation, and jaw reconstruction for dental implant placement.
Dr. Hogg is active in the Delta Dental Donated Dental Services Program, which provides oral surgical care to the elderly, handicapped, and underserved members of the community. Along with Dr. Kepros, Dr. Hogg is also a director of North Iowa Dental Seminars, which is a branch of the nationwide Seattle Study Club. The Seattle Study Club is a “University Without Walls,” providing unparalleled continuing education for dentists and dental specialists. This constantly raises the standards of the quality of dental care for patients in the local communities.
Dr. Hogg graduated from the University of Iowa, College of Dentistry in 1995. He continued his education with by completing his residency at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, graduating in 1999.
Dr. Hogg became board-certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2001 and was recertified in 2011. He is a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Interests & Hobbies
Dr. Hogg is married to his wonderful wife, Susan, a native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He enjoys the outdoors and likes to bike, scuba, and cheer on the Hawkeyes during the fall football season.
