North Iowa Oral Surgery & Dental Implant Center was thrilled to announce that two recipients were selected for its Second Chance program! Laura, 53, of Leland and Amanda, 31, of Mason City will both receive full-arch restoration treatments completely free of charge.
Laura lives with just four teeth. Not only was she suffering from poor oral health and dental pain, but she also has trouble eating foods and has dealt with a variety of other health issues over the last four years. In addition, she has been caring for her husband who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Her 30th wedding anniversary and 35th class reunion are in June of next year, and she is excited to be able to smile in photos with her husband and surprise her classmates with a brand-new smile.
Amanda is a single mom of five and works as a full-time daycare provider. All of her teeth except eight are either decayed, broken, or missing. One of the reasons she applied for the Second Chance program was to help teach her children about proper oral health and dental care so they can grow up with healthier teeth. She also wants to be a good role model for her children and take photos with them without feeling embarrassed.
Drs. Lyell Hogg and Christopher Kepros of North Iowa Oral Surgery & Dental Implant Center are collaborating with Dr. Hehr of the Nettleton Dental Group, Dr. Cruz-Orcutt from Mint Springs Dentistry, May Dental Lab, Straumann, and Dentsply Sirona to complete the procedure and give the recipients the smiles they deserve.
